Omoniyi Talabi is the Managing Director and Lead Project Manager at Laplas Consult & Management Services ltd. He is an accomplished project professional with extensive experience in heritage restoration, refurbishment, and community-focused construction projects. Before establishing Laplas Consult, Omoniyi served as a Senior Project Manager at Historic England, where he played a significant role in the Head office Rightsizing project.
His work involved navigating complex planning requirements, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the delivery of sensitive projects that balanced historic value with contemporary functionality.
Prior to his tenure at Historic England, Omoniyi worked as a Construction Project Manager at The Mechanics’ Institution Trust, now the Swindon Heritage Preservation Trust. In this role, he oversaw capital works, heritage maintenance programmes, and stakeholder-driven community projects, further strengthening his expertise in managing historically significant assets and working with public-sector and charitable organisations.
Omoniyi holds an HND and a BEng in Civil Engineering, demonstrating a strong technical foundation in structural and infrastructural principles. He also holds an MSc in Construction Project Management, which equips him with advanced knowledge of project leadership, cost control, risk management, and strategic delivery within complex built-environment settings. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to excellence, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
He is a Chartered Civil Engineer through the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Construction Management, UK.
